USPA Chosen Foods Senior Circuit Year End Rankings

2023 was the year that the USPA Senior Circuit debuted, with nine tournaments played. The Senior Circuit was formed to address the growing number of Padel players across all age groups. The divisions for the Senior Circuit are based on FIP and AFP categories and are men, 55 and older, 45 and older, and 45 and older, whilst in the Womens, the categories are 50 and older, 40 and older, and 30 and older. With FIP announcing that the Senior World Championships will be played in 2024, these will be exciting tournaments to play in and watch next year. The Senior Circuit rankings took a player’s total from their best three performances, with a tournament victory counting for 1,000 points.

Men’s Categories

In the Men 55+, Gabriel Sanchez Aniesta and Larry Pascal were strong all year, each winning four tournaments, three of them as a team, to top the rankings. Ron Bobman and Carlos Rodiguez finished a close 3rd and 4th with two tournament victories together.

Fernando Alarcon and Gabriel Perez Krieb sat atop the Men 45+ rankings with two victories. This division had fourteen first-time tournament winners, proving that the division is wide open heading into 2024.

Men 35+ was very competitive, with Juan Arraya and Patricio Misitrano sharing the top spot after triumphing twice as partners. Tomas Galez finished in 3rd position, followed by eleven players tied for the 4th spot.

Women’s Categories

Cynthia Ainsa took the top spot in the Women’s 50+ with 2,000 points after two tournament victories. Alison Withers and Sue Hart played as partners and shared 2nd place.

Women 40+ featured six players at the top, with Catherine Galvin, Carolina Dealtube, María del Pilar Morales, Seunghae Miryam Shin, Heather Bartzen, and Jen Demsey all winning one tournament.

The Women 35+ was also a tie at the top, with Anca Anastasiu, Veronica Ruiz, Cynthia Ainsa, and Ana Paula Soto all winning tournaments.

As more players enter tournament play and more tournaments are offered in 2024, we expect to see these divisions become more and more competitive.
