Guiding Greatness: Introducing the Coaches of US National Teams at the FIP World Championships

The United States Padel Association (USPA) is proud to present the distinguished coaches guiding the US National Teams at the upcoming FIP World Championships, which will be held in Doha, Qatar, later this year. Luis Fernando Ramirez will lead the men’s team, while Richy Alacantara Bailey will helm the women’s team. Both coaches bring a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success that is expected to inspire and elevate the performance of the US National Teams.

Luis Fernando Ramirez – Men’s National Team Coach 

With a Master’s in Sports Administration from the University of Miami and a rich background in Padel, Luis Fernando Ramirez is a seasoned coach known for his strategic coaching and leadership skills. In 2023, Ramirez coached the US Men to victory at the Pan American LIbres contest in Cancun, Mexico, and he will look to build on that performance at the World Championships.

“I am deeply honored to be appointed the Head Coach for the men’s US National Team. As we prepare for the World Championships, I am committed to inspiring, leading, and pursuing excellence again. This responsibility is a privilege, and I will dedicate myself to assembling and guiding the best team to represent the USA, striving to achieve our collective goals.” stated Ramirez.

Richy Alacantara Bailey – Women’s National Team Coach 

Richy’s journey from a top player in Madrid to a revered coach reflects his deep commitment to Padel. His experience includes coaching the Finnish national team and representing the US National Team in six world championships. Bailey previously coached the US National Ladies Team at the Senior World Championships in April of this year.

Both coaches are preparing for the World Championships in Doha, Qatar, from October 28 to November 3, 2024, and any necessary qualifying matches. Their leadership is crucial as they prepare US National Teams to bring their best to the global stage.
