The first-ever US Open Padel Championships will be held at Padel Haus Dumbo from Friday, October 4th to Sunday, October 6th, 2024, bringing the final Major of the Nox USPA Circuit to New York City.

Players will be competing for a $15,000 prize pool which is distributed equally between men’s and women’s divisions. The US Open Padel Championships promises high-stakes competition for all participants. The tournament will feature three divisions for both men’s and women’s events, welcoming the best ranked players from around the USA and the world.

This year’s tournament marks the fourth and final major on the 2024 Nox USPA circuit. It follows the recent US Open tennis held at Flushing Meadows, marking another major moment for racquet sports in the city. It is set to be transformational for Padel and a landmark event in the United States for the world’s fastest-growing sport.

When it begins at the iconic Padel Haus Dumbo next month, the 2024 US Open Padel Championships will be following in the footsteps of its counterparts, the US Open Tennis Championships (which began in 1881) and the US Open Golf Championships (which began in 1895) as the first tournament of its kind and will become part of a historic tradition of Open Championships in America.

Today, there are currently more than 30 million active Padel players worldwide across 110 countries. At the professional level, there is an international circuit comprising approximately 5,000 players representing over 70 nations.

In the US, the sport is experiencing extreme growth with 25 new clubs opening in the first half of 2024. This tournament offers a huge opportunity to showcase the sport’s growth in the US and provide a springboard to share the fervor nationwide.

The men’s and women’s top division will be a 64-person draw with matches live-streamed throughout the tournament. All main draw matches will be played at Padel Haus Dumbo, while some Division 2 and Division 3 matches held at neighboring venues in Domino Park and Williamsburg.

Ryan Redondo, Chair of the US Open Sub-Committee of the USPA, said: “This is a huge moment for padel in the United States and we are thrilled to bring the inaugural US Open to New York City. One of the largest metropolises in the world, New York is home to a diverse community which has truly embraced the spirit of padel and will provide a brilliant host to this historic tournament.

“Padel Haus have been a long-standing partner to the USPA and boast some of the best padel venues across the United States. We are thrilled they will host this tournament in this landmark event for padel and we are focused on making this tournament a tremendous success.”

Santiago Gomez, Padel Haus Founder and CEO, said: “We are delighted to be the host venue for this significant occasion not just for the sport of padel, but for the broader Open Championships legacy in the United States. As the number one padel operator in New York, we are excited to welcome some of America’s and the world’s best players to the Big Apple for this milestone in padel’s young history. We can’t wait to welcome New Yorkers to see the best of padel in just three weeks’ time.”

Players and fans alike will be treated to world-class padel action at Padel Haus Dumbo, a premier venue offering state-of-the-art facilities and stunning views of the iconic New York skyline.

Registration will close on Friday 27th September with the draw taking place the following Monday, 30th September. Players are encouraged to register early via the World Padel Rating website (www.worldpadelrating.com ), as spots are expected to fill quickly.
