The 2024 NOX USPA Circuit marked a historic milestone for Padel in the United States, becoming the largest and most competitive circuit in USPA history. With 48 tournaments held nationwide and an incredible 1,500 players participating, the men’s division brought passion, grit, and exceptional talent to courts nationwide. This season, from new rivalries to breakthrough performances, showcased why the sport continues to grow exponentially in the U.S.
Juan Manuel “Guga” Vazquez Dominates the Circuit
At the top of the rankings with 10,220 points, Juan Manuel “Guga” Vazquez emerged as the undeniable leader of the NOX USPA Circuit. Guga’s consistency, combined with his ability to adapt to different partners and challenging conditions, solidified his place as the #1 player in the country. A standout performance came at the USPA Masters Finals, where Guga teamed up with Nico Agritelley for the first time, winning the men’s title dominantly. Guga’s achievements this year showcased his incredible skill, mental toughness, and leadership on and off the court.
Jose Carlos Gaspar: The Pursuer
Finishing second in the standings with 8,200 points, Jose Carlos Gaspar maintained a commanding presence throughout the season. Known for his versatility and powerful play, Gaspar’s victories included impressive runs in major tournaments such as the US Open Padel Championships in New York with Guga Vasquez. His ability to thrive under pressure and compete against top-ranked opponents cemented his place as one of the most formidable players on the circuit.
Nico Agritelley: A Season of Excellence
Rounding out the 2024 NOX USPA Cicuit top three, Nico Agritelley accumulated 5,520 points, solidifying his reputation as the number one ranked US National Team player in the rankings. Agritelley’s season was highlighted by winning the RGV USPA 1000 with Luis Estrada, and then finishing the year on top at the USPA Masters Finals, partnering with Guga Vazquez to clinch the title. Nico’s relentless drive, court coverage, and ability to adapt to different partners made him a fan favorite and one to watch in the coming seasons.
Breakthrough Performances and Rising Stars
Several players made their mark on the circuit this year, highlighting the depth of talent in the U.S. men’s division:
- Peter Alonso (4,920 points): Despite playing fewer tournaments this year, Peter Alonso was briefly the top player, finished the year fourth, and won a USPA Major and a USPA 1000.
- Luis Estrada (4,880 points) consistently delivered high-level performances, often challenging the top-ranked players and his partnership with Agritelley showcased strong teamwork and precision.
- Guillermo Jimenez (4,400 points) and Maximiliano Rozas (3,405 points) emerged as a powerful pairing. Their semifinal run at the USPA Masters Finals cemented their place among the elite.
- Jacobo Blanco (4,020 points) Anytime Jacobo Blanco competed he was a threat for the title, illustrated by his victory at the P1 Padel Haus USPA Major. In addition, he contributed as a coach for the US National Team at the Pan American Cat Libres, reinforcing his commitment to growing the sport in the U.S.
- Raul Ruiz (3,310 points) Raul finished the year as the number two ranked American player in the rankings. Propelled by an amazing showing at the US Open Padel Championships where he andhis partner Nico Clerc made the final, Ruiz was a consistent performer on the USPA circuit and for the US National Team at the FIP World Championships.
