The second edition of the Alpine Hexagon Cup brought together some of the world’s top padel talent for a thrilling five-day event at Madrid Arena. With eight elite teams led by global sports icons—including Sergio Agüero, Lionel Messi, Eva Longoria, Andy Murray, Pierre Gasly, and Robert Lewandowski—the tournament provided a dynamic and unique team-based competition. The format, distinct from the traditional Premier Padel tour, created a high-energy atmosphere, and KRÜ Padel by Taktika emerged as the 2025 Hexagon Cup Champions in their debut appearance.
Taktika Equity’s Influence on KRÜ Padel’s Victory
A significant storyline from this year’s tournament was the involvement of Taktika Equity, a U.S.-based investment fund dedicated to transforming the padel ecosystem in the U.S., in KRÜ Padel’s ownership. Led by Gabriel Pérez Krieb, a key investor and co-owner, Taktika Equity has been instrumental in developing padel infrastructure and supporting professional competition. Their investment in KRÜ Padel reflects their broader mission to elevate the sport globally, connecting the rising padel scene in the United States with elite international competition.
A Final to Remember
The championship match showcased the depth and resilience of the KRÜ Padel squad as they battled against the Rafa Nadal Academy team in front of a packed Madrid Arena.
- Women’s Final: The Rafa Nadal Academy started strong as Gemma Triay and Marta Ortega edged Claudia Jensen and Vero Virseda in a dramatic battle. Despite being down a set and a break, Jensen and Virseda fought back to force a championship tie-break, ultimately losing in a tense 13-11 decider.
- Men’s Final: The men’s pairing of Momo González and Fede Chingotto proved too strong for Franco Stupaczuk and Alex Ruiz, securing a 6-4, 6-4 win to even the overall score at 1-1.
- Next Gen Women’s Final: In the deciding match, Marina Lobo and Águeda Pérez Ortiz clinched the title for KRÜ Padel by Taktika, defeating Noa Cánovas and Noemi Aguilar 6-3, 6-4. Having lost to the round-robin in days prior, this was a very significant win for KRÜ and secured the title.
With the victory, KRÜ Padel became the second-ever Hexagon Cup champion, and Agüero, who was in attendance, celebrated alongside his team.
Bronze Medal Showdown
Earlier in the day, Team AD/Vantage, co-owned by Andy Murray, Arran Yentob, and Anthony Joshua, secured third place over Team Bella Puerto Rico. Delfi Brea and Sofia Araújo won their doubles match in straight sets, followed by Juan Tello and Martín Di Nenno overcoming a strong challenge from Coki Nieto and world number one Arturo Coello to clinch the bronze medal.
