The Miami Premier Padel P1 Wild Card Tournament has concluded, marking a significant milestone for American padel. The event showcased exceptional talent, with U.S. players securing coveted spots in the main and qualifying draws of the upcoming Miami Premier Padel P1.
The wild cards were allocated to US players via a Wild Card Tournament courtesy of the motorola razr Miami Premier Padel P1 team and tournament director Fernando Belasteguin. These wild cards represent a significant investment in the future of American padel and show the long-term commitment that the tournament has made to the USA.
Charlie Moon, Tournament Director for the Wild Card Tournament, stated. “It’s our honor to be part of USA padel history. Together we will reach a milestone for the first time with so many American flags in the men’s and women’s draw of a Premier Padel tournament. We hope this inspires current and future generations of American padel players to work hard in the coming years and push forward in their careers.”
Men’s Main Draw Wild Cards:
Nico Agritelley & Vinny Di Francesco: This dynamic duo has been instrumental in elevating U.S. padel on the global stage. Both players represented the U.S. at the 2024 FIP World Championships in Doha, contributing to the team’s commendable 13th-place finish. Agritelley plays predominantly on the Nox USPA Circuit and is currently ranked fifth in the USPA Rankings and won the 2024 Nox USPA Circuit Master Finals. Di Francesco is a rising star on the FIP Circuit and was one of the youngest players at the 2024 FIP World Championships in Doha.
Matias Segura & Aaron Gabriel Segura: Matias Segura represented the USA at the 2024 FIP World Championships in Doha; this was his third year representing the USA on the global stage. He is playing full-time internationally, and this main draw wild card will be invaluable to his progress. Aaron Segura, Matias’s cousin, showcased his prowess for the USA at the 2024 Pan American Cat Libres by winning the first category. This was also his third year representing the USA in international competitions.
Men’s Qualifying Wild Card:
Raul Ruiz & Jose de Armas: Ruiz and de Armas are veterans of the USPA Circuit. Ruiz is ranked in the top 10 and reached the finals of the US Open Padel Championships, as well as playing for the USA at the 2024 FIP World Championships in Doha. De Armas, a former professional tennis player, helped the USA qualify for the 2024 FIP World Championships in Doha before taking on coaching duties in Doha. The pair won a hard-fought third-place playoff match, 7-6, 4-6, 7-5, to earn their qualifying wild card.
Women’s Main Draw Wild Card:
Brittany Dubins & Marta Morga: Dubins, a Miami native, is the top-ranked player on the USPA Circuit and ranked 125th in the world. Dubins plays full-time professionally on the FIP Tour, yet was still able to dominate the 2024 Nox USPA Circuit, claiming all four USPA majors, including the inaugural US Open Padel Championships, in addition to competing for the USA at the FIP World Championships in Doha, Qatar. Morga, is the fifth-ranked player on the Nox USPA Circuit and ranked 183rd in the world. Morga won the RGV USPA 1000, made the semi-finals of the US Open Padel Championships, and competed for the USA at the FIP World Championships in Doha, Qatar
Women’s Qualifying Wild Card:
Egle Petrauskaite & Sofia Adamowich: Petrauskaite has been a standout on the USPA circuit over the past three years, consistently showcasing top-tier performances and playing in the Pro Padel League over the past two seasons. Adamowich’s experience includes representing the USA at the 2024 FIP World Championships in Doha and competing for the USA at the Junior World and Pan American Championships. Their combined experience and skill set position them well for the challenges ahead.
