Miami Premier Padel P1 Wraps Up with Triay/Brea and Galán/Chingotto Claiming Titles

Premier Padel P1

The inaugural motorola razr Miami Premier Padel P1 has concluded in thrilling fashion, with Gemma Triay & Delfi Brea and Ale Galán & Fede Chingotto emerging as champions in front of packed crowds at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The tournament was a landmark moment for padel in the United States, with four consecutive sellouts and an atmosphere that showcased the sport’s rising prominence in North America.

Triay & Brea staged a remarkable comeback in the women’s final to defeat Ari Sánchez & Paula Josemaría 2-6, 6-1, 6-4. Their victory marks their second Premier Padel title of the season and further solidifies them as serious challengers to the world No. 1 pairing.

In the men’s final, Galán & Chingotto delivered a commanding performance to defeat Juan Lebrón & Franco Stupaczuk 6-1, 7-6. The win was particularly significant for Galán, as it marked his first final against former longtime partner Lebrón, and for Chingotto, who continues to establish himself as one of the world’s premier playmakers.

As global superstars took center stage, it’s also been a groundbreaking tournament for the US players who were able to enter via the USPA Wild Card Tournament. These players have represented the country with incredible determination.

Nico Agritelley and Vinny Di Francesco made history by winning their first-round match in the main draw. This marked the first time a US men’s team has advanced to the second round of a Premier Padel P1 event. Though they fell in the next round, their performance showcased the growing strength of American padel on the international stage.

Aaron & Matias Segura also represented the U.S. in the main draw, facing Agritelley & Di Francesco in an all-American first-round battle. Though they fell 6-3, 6-4, their qualification for the main draw was a significant achievement, underscoring their place among the top U.S. players competing.

In the qualifying draw, Jose De Armas & Raul Ruiz Alvarez fought hard against Guillermo Losada & Thomas Leygue but ultimately fell short in a 6-1, 6-3 defeat. Their participation in Miami Premier Padel P1 remains a testament to the rapid development of U.S. padel, and their experience against international competition will be invaluable for future tournaments.

On the women’s side, Brittany Dubins & Marta Morga, the top-ranked US duo, stepped onto the prestigious Juan & Bela Court to take on one of the toughest teams in the world, Spain’s Alejandra Salazar & Veronica Virseda. While the match ended in defeat, it was an invaluable experience that further solidifies the presence of American women in elite competition.

Additionally, Sofia Adamowich & Egle Petrauskaite battled in the qualifying draw, demonstrating their resilience and skill. While they didn’t advance, their participation in Miami Premier Padel P1 is another step toward establishing a stronger pipeline of American talent competing at the highest level.

The tournament wasn’t just a sporting spectacle—it was a gathering of global sports icons. Tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz, Matteo Berrettini, Sara Errani, and Caroline Garcia attended, along with former soccer star Paul Pogba and music legends Alejandro Sanz and Daddy Yankee, who participated in the pre-match ceremonies.

International Padel Federation (FIP) President Luigi Carraro hailed the event as a breakthrough moment for padel in the U.S., emphasizing the tournament’s record attendance and high-level competition as proof that the sport is ready to expand further in the American market. With Miami Premier Padel P1 now in the books, the future of padel in the U.S. has never looked brighter.
