The day’s matches set the stage for an exciting finale as some of the top-ranked players in U.S. padel fought for their places in Sunday’s final. Women’s Draw: Dubins and Rodriguez Sanchez Power to the Final

The highlight of US Open Day 2 was the fierce competition in the Women’s draw. USPA No. 2 Brittany Dubins and her partner Carla Rodriguez Sanchez put in strong performances, advancing through two tough rounds to secure their place in the final. Their journey began with a dominant straight-sets quarter-final win over Paloma Vela and Veronica Costabel.

The galleries were alive with energy as the two teams traded rallies. Yet, it was Madrid-based American Dubins and her partner Rodriguez Sanchez who managed to secure their spot in Sunday’s final.

Up against Dubins and Rodriguez Sanchez in tomorrow’s final will be USPA No. 3 Anna Cortiles and her partner, USPA No. 6 Luicelena Perez. Cortiles and Perez were in imperious form throughout the day, dispatching their quarter-final opponents Olaya Garrido Rivas and Stephanie Petit in a quick match, losing just two games. Their semi-final proved to be a sterner test, as they faced Marta Morga, a Pro Padel League (PPL) star for the San Diego Stingrays, and her partner Adriana Perez. In a tight contest, Cortiles and Perez demonstrated their mental toughness, edging out Morga and Perez 6-4, 6-3 to set up an enticing final.

Men’s Draw: Clerc and Ruiz on a Collision Course with Vazquez and Gaspar Campos

The action was equally compelling on the Men’s side, as Nicolas Clerc and his partner Raul Ruiz powered through the draw to book their place in the final. In a tough semi-final, Clerc and Ruiz demonstrated a showcase of clinical padel, triumphing in straight sets and securing their berth in Sunday’s eagerly-anticipated final.

Awaiting Clerc and Ruiz in the final will be the favorites, Juan Manuel Vazquez and Jose Carlos Gaspar Campos. The top-seeded pairing lived up to expectations, progressing through the quarter-final with a solid victory over Jason Tamayo Lapidus and Marcos Castares. In the semi-final, they faced Guillermo Jimenez Cagigas and Maximiliano Rosas; a match in which, after a faltering start, they ultimately prevailed in three tight sets, securing their place in the final.
