Building on a Breakout Year
The 2026 season opened with a record-breaking first-half schedule and continued to expand throughout the year, reinforcing padel’s position as one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. That growth has placed USA Padel’s tournament infrastructure, along with the clubs that power it, at the center of the sport’s next phase.
USA Padel is framing the 2027 cycle around quality, geographic balance, and sustainable growth: matching the calendar to where players and clubs actually are. The exact size and shape of the 2027 schedule will take form as applications come in and are reviewed over the coming months.
“2026 showed us what’s possible when clubs, players, and volunteers all pull in the same direction. For 2027, we’re not just chasing a bigger number. We’re focused on building a calendar that’s sustainable, well-balanced, and gives every club a real opportunity to be part of the circuit’s growth,” said Scott Colebourne, CEO and Executive Director of USA Padel.
How the Process Works
USA Padel sanctions tournaments across several tiers, starting with USA Padel 100 events at the local level and progressing through USA Padel 250, 500, 1000, and 2000, with the US Open Padel Championships at the top of the circuit.
USA Padel Club Members will also have the opportunity to apply to host tournaments on the FIP Beyond Circuit and Cupra FIP Tour, strengthening ties between the USA and the global circuits of padel.
Key steps for clubs interested in hosting:
- Confirm your club holds an Official or Premier USA Padel Membership (clubs that aren’t members yet can join here)
- Submit your application through the official application
- Send any questions on the process to info@padelusa.org
- Important Dates
- August 28th – Applications Open
- September 18th – Applications close for January – June Tournaments
- October 23rd – Applications close for July – December Tournaments
Why Clubs Host
Hosting a USA Padel-sanctioned tournament remains one of the most direct ways for a club to grow and engage its membership, draw in new players, and put its facility in front of a wider audience. As the circuit has grown, so has the visibility that comes with being part of it, from ranking points that matter to competitive players to the broader exposure that comes with appearing on the national calendar.
What Comes Next
As in past cycles, the USA Padel Competition Committee will review submissions with an eye toward geographic coverage, facility readiness, and community feedback gathered over the previous season. Clubs are encouraged to apply early, as timely submissions help the Committee build a calendar that gives players and clubs the maximum runway to plan their travel and competitive schedules for 2027.
