Players from the USA, the UK, and Mexico will meet at Padel X this October for the inaugural women’s invitational, presented by GreenOak.
The inaugural Athena Padel Cup: Women’s Invitational, presented by GreenOak, arrives at Padel X in Miami from October 12-15, 2026. The event brings together women from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Mexico for four days of international competition, connection, and celebration, and marks a new milestone for the fast-growing global community of women in padel.
Held during both National Padel Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Athena Padel Cup puts women at the center of the sport, showcasing high-level play alongside the friendships, wellness, and community that have made padel one of the fastest-growing sports in the world.
A New Kind of International Event
Athena Cup is the creation of Andi Neugarten, founder of 6 Love Sports, and was brought to life in partnership with Joelle Quinn and Padel X. From the start, the event was imagined as an annual international gathering where women play in a team format and build connections that last long after the final point.
“Padel has a way of bringing people together like no other sport,” said Neugarten. “We wanted to build something where women could compete with real pride for their countries, but also leave Miami with new friendships that stretch across borders. Athena is about celebrating the players, the competition, and the community that makes this sport so special, and this is only the beginning.”
How the Cup Will Be Decided
Teams will play across four age divisions, and all matches count towards the team’s total points, so players across generations all have a hand in their country’s result. The team with the highest combined score will be crowned the first-ever Athena Padel Cup Champion.
The Athena Experience
The week opens on October 12 with a welcome dinner under the stars, held on the courts at Padel X. Three days of team competition follow, paired with an off-court program designed to make Athena as memorable socially as it is competitively.
Beyond the matches, players will enjoy padel clinics, Pilates, yoga, and wellness sessions, the Padel X cold plunges, a Miami yacht cruise, curated local experiences, and a full slate of networking and social events. The week builds toward the Athena Cup finals and a closing celebration.
A Joint Celebration of Women’s Padel
The October 15 finale will coincide with the 6 Love Sports League Finals, uniting two communities for one larger celebration of women’s padel. Athena Cup players and international teams will be joined by 6 Love Sports League players, partners, friends, and the wider Miami padel community for an evening of championship padel, awards, music, food, and a closing party.
Looking Ahead to 2027
Athena is set to become an annual fixture on the international women’s amateur padel calendar. Planning is already underway for the 2027 edition, scheduled for October 12–15, 2027, with interest already coming in from additional countries around the world.
At its heart, Athena reflects what makes padel unique: competition, community, and the relationships the sport builds across borders.
The Athena Padel Cup is a privately run tournament. It is not sanctioned by USA Padel, FIP, or Padel America, and no official rating or ranking points will be awarded.
