ASBA AND USPA PUBLISH THE FIRST EVER USA PADEL COURT INSTALLATION MANUAL

New Technical Publication Covers Design Considerations, Construction, Lighting, Maintenance and Other Essential Topics for Growing Padel.

Forest Hill, MD – The American Sports Builders Association (ASBA), the national organization for builders, design professionals and suppliers of materials for athletic facilities, announces the publication of its inaugural Padel Courts: Installation and Maintenance Manual.

The book is available for purchase on the Association’s website for $39.95, in both hard copy and electronic format, at this link, or by visiting the ASBA website.

“Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports worldwide and its entry into the U.S. market has awakened a need for solid technical information,” said Randy Resley, Chairman of ASBA. “ASBA continues to offer the best content and to build on its record of success in providing excellent publications that serve every sector of the sports industry.”

The new manual, written by an editorial committee that included representation from the United States Padel Association as well as builders and suppliers in the industry, covers padel court dimensions, planning and design, base construction, maintenance, discussion of the installation of court kits, indoor and outdoor facilities, amenities and accessories, lighting and a wealth of information on industry sources, including professional organizations, trade publications and organizations of teaching professionals.

In addition to offering comprehensive information, the manual is illustrated with photos and detailed diagrams.

The goal of the publication is to provide readers with the facts they need to make informed decisions on issues such as contractor selection, court placement, wind and soil considerations and other factors – and to avoid having them try to source unverified information.

“ASBA’s mission in producing this manual is to give readers the information they need, and to do so in a user-friendly format,” said Eric Loftus, chairman of the committee that produced the manual. “The better information we can provide, the better courts will be built and the better the player experience will be. Having well-built facilities that are safe to play on is essential to growing the game. We are proud to offer this manual as an integral resource.”

In this country, interest in the sport of padel has grown rapidly, prompting ASBA to include an educational session, “Padel Court Installation in the U.S. and What to Know Before You Build,” in its upcoming Technical Meeting, to be held December 2-5, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio.

The ASBA is a non-profit association comprised of nearly 700 design professionals, builders and suppliers engaged in sports facility construction, including but not limited to padel courts. The ASBA sponsors informative meetings, publishes books and technical construction guidelines for athletic facilities as well as its quarterly magazine, Build It Right, offers an awards program to recognize construction excellence and keeps its members aware of the latest developments in the industry.

For information on the ASBA, as well as on its members, services, publications, activities and upcoming meetings, please contact the Association at 2331 Rock Spring Road, Forest Hill, Maryland 21050. The phone number is 443-640-1042. The ASBA also may be reached via its website: www.sportsbuilders.org, or via e-mail at info@sportsbuilders.org.
