MIAMI IS GEARING UP TO HOST ONE OF PADEL’S BIGGEST EVENTS OF 2026

The world’s top padel players are heading back to South Florida this spring, as the Miami Beach Convention Centre prepares to welcome the Miami Premier Padel P1 from March 23–29, 2026.

For the second consecutive year, Miami will serve as one of the premier stops on the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour, and by all accounts, the 2026 edition is shaping up to be bigger and more ambitious than before.

The tournament is part of a packed 25-event global calendar spanning 17 countries, cementing padel’s rapid rise from a regional pastime to a full-blown international sport. Miami’s spot on the calendar reflects the city’s strong turnout in 2025 and the broader push to establish the United States as a serious market for the game.

A Stamp of Approval from the Greatest of All Time

Few names carry more weight in the world of padel than Fernando Belasteguín. Widely regarded as the greatest player in the sport’s history, Belasteguín returns as the Tournament Director for the Miami event. However, “Bela’s” involvement goes far beyond the duties of a typical tournament director. The management company that Bela formed with his business partners, One Sixteen Sports, is managing and producing the entire tournament, and Bela has shown a strong interest in growing the Miami and USA padel communities His involvement lends the tournament a level of credibility that goes beyond marketing, signalling that the people who built this sport are invested in seeing it grow on American soil.

An Iconic Setting for Elite Competition

The Miami Beach Convention Centre, located at 1901 Convention Centre Dr in Miami Beach, is no stranger to high-profile events. The venue regularly hosts international conferences, world-class art fairs, and large-scale exhibitions, and its infrastructure is well-suited to the demands of a major professional sports tournament.

For the Premier Padel P1, the MBCC will be transformed into a dedicated padel complex featuring a panoramic main court with grandstands, four secondary courts, two hospitality areas, a commercial zone, player rooms, and dedicated media and administrative spaces. It is, in short, a full-scale professional setup in the heart of one of America’s most glamorous cities.

Who’s Playing?

The draw will feature all the world’s highest-ranked players across both the men’s and women’s competitions, 224 competitors in total, including the qualification! In the main draw, on the men’s side, 40 pairs will compete, made up of 34 direct entries, four qualifying pairs, and wild cards, while the women’s draw will include 28 pairs, comprising 22 direct entries, four qualifying pairs, and wild cards.

Qualifying rounds will add further drama in the days leading up to the main draw, with 16 men’s pairs and 8 women’s pairs battling for the remaining spots in the competition.

In addition to the Qualifying and Direct Entrants, there will be a USPA Wild Card Tournament again, with more details to come.
