Di Francesco and Andenmatten Bring Cupra Tour Momentum
Vinny Di Francesco needs no introduction to anyone who follows the USA Padel Circuit. He spent 366 consecutive weeks atop the national rankings before recently ceding the top spot, a run that established him as the standard-bearer of American padel over the past several years. This summer, Di Francesco has taken that game beyond domestic competition, teaming up with Ivo Andenmatten for a run through the Cupra FIP Tour that has included a round-of-16 finish at the FIP Gold San Luis and a runner-up finish at the FIP Silver McAllen. Phoenix marks their third Cupra Tour stop together in recent months, continuing their push to build results on the international stage.
Agritelley and Conde Carry Brooklyn Momentum Into the Desert
Few pairs enter Phoenix with more recent buzz than Nico Agritelley and Sergio Conde. The two were the story of the USA Padel 2000 Ultra Open in Brooklyn, upsetting Di Francesco and Andenmatten in the semifinal before pushing unseeded international qualifiers Baltazar Parra Heck and Juampi Andrada to a heartbreaking three-set final.
That momentum has carried the pair beyond the domestic circuit as well. Agritelley and Conde have also joined the FIP Silver McAllen this season, and now bring that experience into the FIP Bronze Phoenix Open as they continue building their presence on the international stage.
