The United States Padel Association (USPA) today announced that padel has crossed one million players in the United States, according to the 2026 Topline Participation Report published by the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA).

USPA Welcomes New Board Members for 2025–2026

The United States Padel Association (USPA) proudly announces the election of three exceptional individuals to its Board of Directors for the 2025–2026 term. These new board members bring a wealth of experience, leadership, and a shared passion for advancing padel across the United States.

Juan Arraya (Northeast Region):
A seasoned racquet sports professional with over 22 years of coaching experience, Juan Arraya currently serves as the General Manager at The Sports Haus in Connecticut. His impressive résumé includes competitive achievements such as winning the 45+ division at the Age Group National Championships and representing the U.S. at the Pan American Cat Libres. Beyond his success on the court, Juan has been a leader in national sports initiatives, offering expertise across padel, tennis, and platform tennis.

Jose De Armas (Southeast Region):
An Olympic athlete and former Davis Cup competitor for Venezuela, Jose De Armas brings unparalleled international experience to the board. A standout in tennis and padel, Jose recently represented the U.S. National Senior Team at the World Championships in Alicante and served as an assistant coach for the U.S. National Team at the FIP World Championships in Doha. In addition to his athletic credentials, Jose has a strong background in sports management, overseeing amateur golf tournaments nationwide as a partner in TheGrint Golf App and advising multi-location racquet sports clubs.

Subu Jayaram (Midwest/South Region):
A grassroots champion for youth sports, Subu Jayaram made history by introducing padel courts to a U.S. middle and high school in Austin, Texas. With over 100 juniors already participating in the program, Subu’s vision for community-driven padel development has inspired a new generation of athletes. His extensive leadership experience, including serving as president of the Central Texas Cricket League, highlights his commitment to fostering social connection and growth through sports.

These accomplished board members embody the USPA’s mission to grow padel at all levels. Their diverse expertise, from international competition to grassroots development, will help shape the future of the sport in the U.S.
