The Nox USPA Circuit makes its way to Mission, Texas, as RGV Padel Club hosts a USPA 1000 from April 3-5. The padel community here has been quietly building itself into one of the country’s most dedicated, making this a big weekend of competition.
Held at the McAllen location the past two years, this year’s tournament moves to the new Mission location, which features seven courts and one of the best viewing experiences in the entire country, with an elevated deck overseeing three courts. RGV has become a genuine home for the sport in the Rio Grande Valley by building a local following that knows the game and shows up for it. Players who have traveled here understand that the atmosphere around the courts is electric!
Leo Aguirre, Top 30 Player in the FIP World Rankings Set to Debut on the USPA Circuit.Â
The Men’s D1 draw features four seeded teams, but the real story may be the unseeded Argentinian pairing of Leo Aguirre and Matias Almada!
Ivo Andenmatten and Vinny Di Francesco enter as the #1 seed. Di Francesco is ranked #1 on the USPA rankings and is reuniting with Andenmatten for the first time since they won the Las Vegas USPA 2000 in April of 2025. Andenmatten is undefeated on the Nox USPA Circuit, winning his only tournament, but the pair will be tested this weekend!
The #2 seed brings together Guillermo Jimenez Cagigas (Rank #12) and Luis Estrada (Rank #4). This is a partnership with real circuit pedigree. Estrada is one of the most consistent performers in the USPA rankings, and Cagigas has been a fixture near the top of the circuit for the past two seasons.
Sergio Conde (Rank #13) and Nico Agritelley (Rank #10) take the #3 seed. Both players are circuit regulars, and both have reached finals on the Nox USPA Circuit with various partners. Together, they bring enough experience to be dangerous deep into the bracket.
Rounding out the seeds, Jose David Sánchez Serrano (Rank #17) and Daniel DÃaz (Rank #5) are seeded fourth. DÃaz and Sanchez are the stand out perfomers of 2026 so far, taking the #1 and #2 spots in the Race!Â
However, the tournament favorite could be the unseeded pair of Leo Aguirre and Matias Almada. Aguirre is a global star, currently ranked 30th in the world, and arrives in South Texas after competing at Premier Padel P1 Miami and reaching the semi-finals of Premier Padel P2 Cancun. Almada comes in ranked 254 in the world, but has been as high as the top 150! Their appearance at the RGV USPA 1000 is a testament to the RGV Club, which has continuously pushed to promote padel in Texas and the USA.
Cortiles and Perez in a Class of Their Own
Anna Cortiles and Luicelena Perez enter as the #1 seed – both players ranked #1 on the USPA rankings. It is genuinely rare to see both players in a partnership hold the top individual ranking, and it reflects the kind of dominant, back-to-back season the pair has put together. They are the dominant force, and teams that have faced them this season already know what that means.
The #2 seed, Jordana Lujan (Rank #3), is paired with a newcomer to the Nox USPA Circuit, Colombian Laura Arciniegas. Lujan brings a strong pedigree to the tournament and is always a tough competitor.
Beyond the seeds, two unseeded pairings carry enough ranking weight to complicate things considerably. Marta Morga Alonso (Rank #4) and Renata Martinez (Rank #59) enter without a seed. They are playing together for the third time this year and will be ready to perform!
USA National Team members Clementina Riobueno (Rank #9) and Dhany Quevedo (Rank #18) are the other pair to watch. The pair is coming off an appearance in the Qualifying draw of Miami Premier Padel P1 after coming through from the USPA Wild Card Tournament
A Circuit Stop That Means Something Beyond the Points
A USPA 1000 carries real weight in the national rankings, and with the 2026 season building toward the US Open Padel Championships, teams at every level understand that results now shape seedings later. The field assembling in Mission, Texas, reflects that.
For South Texas, this tournament is also something else. RGV Padel Club has invested in building the sport from the ground up in a region where padel had no footprint just a few years ago. Hosting a national circuit event of this size is the kind of return on that work that shows up in membership conversations for months afterward.
