TEXAS GETS A SECOND FIP PROMISES THIS SUMMER AS WAKIT RAKIT HOSTS JUNIOR INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

The Woodlands, Texas, is becoming one of the most reliable homes for junior international padel in the United States. For the second time in 2026, FIP has sanctioned a Promises Tour event at Wakit Rakit, with the tournament set for June 26-28, 2026. Registration is now open, with a deadline of Wednesday, June 11, 2026.

A tournament director with a history in the game

Leading the event is Tito Moreno, the tournament director. Moreno’s connection to American padel goes back to the beginning. He was part of the first-ever USA National Junior Team, one of the players who put the country on the map in international junior competition before the sport had anywhere near the infrastructure it has today. He later returned to the junior program as a national team coach, so his path has covered both sides of the experience. Players and families can reach Moreno directly at spring@wakitrakit.com or 832-304-4418.

Tournament details

  • Dates: June 26-28, 2026
  • Venue: Wakit Rakit, 510 Hassler Road, Spring, Texas
  • Categories: U14, U16, and U18 (Male and Female)
  • Registration deadline: Wednesday, June 11, 2026, at 12:00 PM CT (1:00 PM ET)

Players are permitted to enter two different age-group draws at this event, giving younger athletes more match time and the chance to compete in more than one bracket across the weekend.

Growing the junior pathway in the United States

FIP Promises events are the primary way junior players in the Americas build their continental rankings. The points earned at each stop feed directly into national team selection conversations and international seeding, so competing here has real consequences for a player’s development. Two Promises stops in the same state in the same calendar year is a relatively new phenomenon in the U.S. padel calendar, reflecting how much the infrastructure for junior competition has grown.

How to register

All registration for the 2026 FIP Promises season runs through the PadelUNO platform. Both players in a pair must complete their individual registrations and pay the annual circuit subscription before either can submit a pairing request. Once the pair is confirmed, you can register for this event through the official FIP page.
