Padel Clube in Mundelein, Illinois, hosted the latest stop on the FIP Promises Tour from May 29 to 31, with over 40 junior players across three age divisions competing for continental ranking points. By the end of the weekend, American players had claimed titles in all three boys’ draws.
Under-14 Boys: Costantini and Benvenutto take the title

Top seeds Santiago Costantini (USA) and Vitto Benvenutto (ARG) moved cleanly through the bracket from start to finish. Their semifinal opponents were Mexican wild card pair Alan Mendoza Colin and Juan De Dios Martinez Saenz, who had upset third seeds Marco Fuentes Davila and Santiago Gonzalez to reach that stage. Costantini and Benvenutto got past them and met the second seeds, Sebastian Hernandez Ochoa and Nicolas Darmohusodo, in the final. Hernandez Ochoa and Darmohusodo had won through to the final without dropping a set, defeating Elliot Malmrup and Alexson Watts in the quarterfinals and the Mendoza Colin-Martinez Saenz pair in the semis. The final went to the top seeds, with Costantini and Benvenutto claiming the U14 title.
Under-16 Boys: De La Cruz and Chaul go the distance to win

The U16 draw had the most international character of the weekend, with pairs from Mexico and Sweden alongside a field dominated by American players. In the quarterfinals, top seeds Diego De La Cruz and Jorge Chaul beat Wilder Anderson and Bode Nicol, while Santiago Constantini and Vitto Benvenutto took out third seeds Santiago Gonzalez and Marco Fuentes Davila. On the other side of the bracket, Sebastian Hernandez and Nicolas Darmohusodo beat Matias Esteban Vazquez and Matthew Toro, and second seeds Alejandro Kalil and Emiliano Antonio Gonzalez dispatched Alan Mendoza Colin and Juan De Dios Martinez Saenz.
The semifinals set up a compelling final. De La Cruz and Chaul got past Constantini and Benvenutto, while Kalil and Gonzalez beat Mendoza Colin, and Martinez Saenz to advance. The final was an all-American matchup, and De La Cruz and Chaul came out on top, with Kalil and Gonzalez finishing as runners-up.
Under-18 Boys: Kalil and Gonzalez complete a perfect weekend

Alejandro Kalil and Emiliano Antonio Gonzalez (USA) answered the U16 final loss with the most dominant performance of the tournament. The U18 draw used a round-robin group format, and Kalil and Gonzalez went undefeated through Group A, while Castro Varela and Chaul took second after earning a walkover against Colombian pair Jeronimo Albornoz and Pablo Lemus.
In Group B, Diego De La Cruz and Pablo Avina (USA) also went unbeaten, winning both of their matches to advance. Mexican pair Pablo Coana and Axel Mendoza Colin finished second in the group after defeating Esteban Vazquez and Nikolas Palacios.
The knockout stage confirmed what the group results suggested. Kalil and Gonzalez got past Coana and Mendoza Colin in the semis, while De La Cruz and Avina beat Castro Varela and Chaul. The final was all Kalil and Gonzalez, who closed out De La Cruz and Avina to take the U18 title and their second FIP Promises trophy of the 2026 season, having also won at the Woodlands event earlier in the year.
A strong weekend for the American junior pathway
The Chicago results add to a strong 2026 season for American juniors on the FIP Promises circuit. With players from Mexico, Colombia, Sweden, and Argentina also in the draws this weekend, the competition was international in character even on home soil. All finishes count toward FIP Continental rankings, which feed directly into national team selection and international seeding for the rest of the year.
Several players competed in multiple age divisions across the weekend. Constantini and Benvenutto made appearances in both U14 and U16, as did several other pairs, giving players more competitive court time and a chance to test themselves against older competition. For younger players in particular, those cross-category appearances are among the most valuable forms of preparation on the domestic calendar.
Padel Clube has now hosted multiple FIP Promises events in the Chicago area, and the club continues to be one of the most consistent venues on the junior circuit in the United States. Tournament Director Rudi Kalil and Main Referee Denis Emir ran the three-day event.
