THE BIGGEST SHOW IN PADEL: USPA 1000 MAKES HISTORY AT RESERVE SOLE MIA

Mark your calendars, padel fans, history is about to be made in North Miami. From September 19-21, 2025, the Reserve Sole Mia will transform into the epicenter of American padel as it hosts the largest USPA tournament ever recorded, with over 280 players vying for glory.

Men’s Division: Star Power Meets Fresh Partnerships

The men’s Division 1 field reads like a who’s who of American padel, but the storylines behind the partnerships make this tournament truly compelling.

Vinny Di Francesco and Octavio Alvarez, the tournament’s #1 seeds, lead the charge. This powerhouse duo brings some serious momentum to Miami. They’re currently ranked #1 and #7 in the USPA male rankings and have captured three of their last four tournaments. When these two step onto the court, opponents know they’re facing a well-oiled machine hitting peak form at just the right time.

Nico Agritelley and Nicolas Xiviller are hot on their heels, seeded second and ranked #3 and #10 nationally. What makes their story intriguing is that this will be just their third tournament as partners. Chemistry on the padel court often takes time to develop, but early results suggest these two have found something special together.

Pedro Alonso Martínez and Jacobo Blanco De Miguel entered the competition as the #3 seed, bringing with them strong credentials as the #4 and #12 players in the Male USPA Rankings. The pair last competed together in May 2025, making their return to the court a much-anticipated moment for fans and followers of the tour.

The most fascinating pairing is the #4 seeds: Juan Manuel Vazquez and Diego Ramos Saldivia. Vazquez sits at #2 in the national rankings while Saldivia comes in at #34 – a significant gap that on paper might seem problematic. But here’s the kicker: this is their first tournament as partners. Sometimes, fresh partnerships can be dangerous precisely because opponents don’t know what to expect.

Women’s Division: Dominance Meets Disruption

If the men’s field is about intrigue and fresh partnerships, the women’s Division 1 is about defending dominance while hungry challengers circle.

Anna Cortiles and Luicelena Perez enter as overwhelming favorites and rightfully so. Both players hold the #1 spot in the female USPA rankings, and their form this year is spectacular, winning seven tournaments together and only losing twice. When you’re facing a duo that dominant, the question isn’t about their skill level; it’s about whether anyone can solve the puzzle they present.

The #2 seeds, Jordana Lujan and Egle Petrauskaite (#3 and #7 in USPA rankings), represent the best hope of dethroning the champions. This will be their first tournament back together, but this pair has a proven history of performing together when it matters most.

Marta Morga Alonso and Clementina Riobueno, seeded 3rd with rankings #4 and #14 in the USPA, bring the stability of experience to their campaign. This Miami tournament will mark their fourth time playing together, suggesting they’ve found a partnership worth nurturing. Sometimes that familiarity and comfort level can be the difference maker in tight matches.

The dangerous floater title belongs to Brittany Dubins and Ana Maria Cabrejas, the #4 seed teaming up for the first time on the USPA Circuit. Dubins is the consensus number one for the USA National Team, but has prioritized international play this year on the FIP Circuit.

Youth On the Rise

In addition to the top players in the USA, the USPA 1000 also features a number of rising juniors using the tournament as preparation for the FIP Junior World Cup to be held in Spain later this month. Alejo Kalil and Diego de la Cruz will be a pair to watch as they compete in Men’s Division 3, with many other junior players sprinkled throughout the draws.

What Makes This Tournament Historic

The numbers alone tell part of the story – 280+ players represent a massive leap forward for organized padel in America. In addition, the depth of talent, the strategic partnerships, and the venue all point to a tournament that could set new standards for padel tournaments in the United States. Reserve Sole Mia provides a fitting backdrop for such an ambitious undertaking, with facilities that can handle the logistical challenges of hosting 280+ players and the spectacle that elite-level padel deserves.
