United States Padel Association Announces Participation in the FIP Senior World Championships in La Nucía, Spain

Austin, Texas– The United States Padel Association (USPA) is excited to announce its participation in the upcoming FIP Senior World Championships, set to take place in La Nucía, Alicante, Spain, from April 15th to 20th, 2024. This prestigious event, hosted by the International Padel Federation (FIP), marks the latest edition of the Senior World Championships and follows the historic and record-breaking championships previously held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The selection of La Nucía, Spain as the venue underscores the event’s significance and the continued expansion of Padel worldwide. The USPA is committed to fielding a team that exemplifies the highest levels of skill and sportsmanship, with Team USA members chosen based on their outstanding performances in the USPA Chosen Foods Circuit.

USPA President Martin Sweeney expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “The FIP Senior World Championships in Alicante represent a fantastic opportunity for Team USA to showcase the talent and passion for padel that exists within the United States. We are grateful for the support of our national team sponsors, Padel Lux, Padel Haus, and Van Eck, who share our vision for elevating American padel on the global stage. We look forward to competing against the best in the world and making our mark in this esteemed tournament.”

The championships are endorsed by the Padel Federation of the Valencian Community (FPCV) and enjoy the full backing of the Spanish Padel Federation (FEP),  and the International Padel Federation (FIP) with significant institutional support from the Comunitat Valenciana and the Council of Alicante. Beyond the competition, the event will honor the legends who have contributed significantly to the sport’s history, celebrating the rich legacy of Padel.

The USPA eagerly anticipates the forthcoming team announcements and is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to Team USA as they prepare for this international showcase. Additional information regarding the event and Team USA’s participation will be made available in the coming days.
