The stage is set for what promises to be an electrifying US Open Padel Championships at Padel Haus Atlanta, October 2-5. With explosive talent and intriguing storylines in both the men’s and women’s divisions, this will be an exciting tournament, and the road to the title will be difficult.
Men’s Division 1: Star Power and Dangerous Underdogs
The tournament’s top seed tells a story of youth meeting excellence. Vinny Di Francesco and Octavio Alvarez have been the revelations of the season. They’re a rookie pairing that’s already captured a USPA 2000 and 1000 title. Di Francesco’s number one USPA ranking speaks volumes, and their chemistry has been undeniable.
The #2-seeded duo of Nico Agritelley and Nicolas Xiviller represents a developing partnership between two individually accomplished players still finding their rhythm together.
Don’t sleep on the #3 seeds Pedro Alonso MartÃnez and Jacobo Blanco De Miguel. Both former USPA number ones dominated the 2023 season and are making their US Open debut. While they haven’t logged significant court time together recently, their individual pedigree makes them legitimate threats to anyone’s championship aspirations.
Luis Estrada and Daniel Diaz (#4 seed) have been one of 2025’s standout pairs, and as their 4th tournament together, and wins on the Nox USPA Circuit with other partners, they represent a substantial threat.
Defending champion Juan Manuel Vazquez (#5 seed) returns with a new partner in Amilcar Gaston Bejarano. As the circuit’s second-ranked player overall, Vazquez has proven he can win with multiple partners, a testament to his adaptability and skill.
Guillermo Jimenez Cagigas and Maximiliano Rozas (#6 seed) have turned heads throughout 2025 and will be gunning for a deep run. Meanwhile, Sergio Conde and Geronimo Barrios Silva (#7 seed) bring veteran savvy. Conde alone has competed in over 20 tournaments this season.
As the #8 seed, Matias Segura and Higor Ensslin could be the team nobody wants to see in their draw. Segura ranks fifth in the USPA standings, after a win at the Austin Open USPA 2000 earlier this summer. Ensslin is making just his second appearance on the circuit, but the pair are riding high off a runner-up finish at the USPA 1000 at Reserve Sola Mia.
Last year’s champion, Jose Carlos Gaspar Campos, returns to defend his title, partnering with Jaime Fermosell. For Gaspar Campos, a former USPA Number 1, this marks his first circuit appearance since May, making his comeback all the more compelling. Fermosell, despite limited circuit play, is well known as one of the elite players in the USA. The question is, can this pair shake off the cobwebs and perform at the right time?
Women’s Division 1: Champions Return, Dark Horses Emerge
The women’s draw features blockbuster matchups, headlined by a potential upset machine.
The top-seeded Anna Cortiles and Luicelena Perez have been nothing short of dominant, capturing 12 tournament titles in the past year as a team. Their runner-up finish at last year’s US Open has left them hungry, and they’ll be the favorites to claim the crown they narrowly missed.
Jordana Lujan and Gianinna Minieri (#2 seed) have already proven their partnership works, winning both the RGV USPA 1000 and the P1 Padel Las Vegas Open USPA 2000. Their momentum could carry them all the way to the final.
The #3 seeds, Egle Petrauskaite and Clementina Riobueno, bring an interesting dynamic as US National Team teammates making their first Nox USPA circuit appearance together. Chemistry won’t be an issue; the question is whether they can translate their national team chemistry to the circuit.
Rounding out the seeded teams, Astrid Gehre and Bego Benjumeda (#4 seed) feature the consistently excellent Gehre, ranked fifth on the USPA circuit and known for her steady, high-level performances throughout the year.
Brittany Dubins and Margarida Fernandes enter unseeded, but calling them underdogs feels misleading. Dubins claimed the US Open title in New York last year, and her new partnership with Fernandes (ranked #110 in FIP) already yielded gold at the WPR Atlanta Open this summer. Spectators and other competitors might want to watch this pair as they could be the most dangerous unseeded team in the US Open Padel Championships’ brief history.
Rivaling Dubins and Fernandes as dangerous and unseeded is the pairing of Raquel Borges Piltcher and Manuela Schuck Silva, ranked #128 and #97, respectively, in the FIP World Rankings. Making their debut as a pair on the Nox USPA Circuit, this team will be one to watch to see if they can translate their global success to the USA.
What to Watch
With defending champions seeking redemption, rookie sensations making their mark, and dangerous unseeded teams lurking in the shadows, this year’s US Open Padel Championships promises drama at every turn. The blend of established stars, rising talents, and reunited partnerships creates a genuinely unpredictable tournament bracket; this is what fans want to see.
In addition to the strong Division 1’s categories, the US Open Padel Championships features divisions 2,3, and 4 with 240 athletes competing across all divisions. This marks one of the largest Nox USPA Circuit tournaments of the year.
