The Nox USPA Circuit rolls into San Diego, California, this week for the USPA 1000 Cooley Open at Padel N9NE, running June 12-14. It is the latest chapter in a 2026 season that keeps raising the bar for domestic padel competition, and this one comes with all the ingredients for a memorable weekend. Strong seeds, proven partnerships, and a venue that has quickly built a reputation as one of the premier padel facilities in California, a destination worth watching.
Men’s D1: A Loaded Draw with Clear Favorites
The men’s Division 1 draw has four seeded pairs, and the top of the field is exactly as competitive as you’d expect at this point in the season.
Guillermo Jimenez Cagigas and Nicolas Xiviller enter as the #1 seed. Cagigas sits 13th in the USPA Men’s Rankings and 10th in the 2026 Race, while Xiviller is ranked 7th in the Race. Both have been fixtures near the top of the circuit for two seasons running. This is a new partnership; the players themselves and the opponents will be interested to see how far this pair will go.
Seeded second, Sergio Conde and Nico Agritelley are two of the most recognizable names in American padel. Conde is 11th in the USPA Men’s Rankings and 4th in the Race, having competed in more tournaments than almost anyone this season. Agritelley sits 8th in the overall standings and 9th in the Race. Together, they have the tools to challenge anyone on the right day.
Below the seeds, the draw features players with enough quality to complicate any first-round matchup. Chris Humphreys and Nicolas Palomares are among the names to watch as the action gets underway on Friday afternoon.
Women’s D1: International Firepower and a Loaded Field
The women’s Division 1 draw is one of the most internationally loaded fields the Nox USPA Circuit has assembled at a 1000-level event this year, and the overall rankings make clear why.
Anna Cortiles and Vivian Carrillo enter as the top team by circuit points. Cortiles is ranked #1 in both the overall USPA Women’s Rankings and the 2026 Race, tied with Luicelena Perez at the top of both tables. This is a new partnership; however, Cortilles has proven that she can win with a variety of partners over the past two years on both the USPA and FIP circuits. This will be an opportunity for Carrillo to prove herself as they both aim for the title.
Marta Morga Alonso and Renata Martinez are the pair to watch just behind them. Morga Alonso sits 3rd in the Women’s Race and 5th in the Rankings, while Martinez, 11th in the Rankings, is 5th in the Race. They have played together several times this season and will be ready to perform in San Diego.
Celeste Paz and Mariluz Rojo Domingo are another pairing with the firepower to upset either of the top two on the right day. Rojo Domingo is 6th in the Race and 10th in the Women’s Rankings, bringing consistency that makes her one of the more reliable performers in the draw. For Paz, a former top 10 global World Padel Tour-ranked player and currently coaching in San Diego, brings a level of experience not typically seen on the USPA circuit.
A Circuit Stop That Means Something Beyond the Points
Padel N9NE has established itself as a facility that can host a national circuit event and execute at a high level. The San Diego padel community has been building steadily, and a USPA 1000 of this caliber reflects the progress the sport has made in the state.
With the 2026 season building toward the US Open Padel Championships, results at events like this one shape the seedings and narratives that will define the postseason. Daniel Diaz and Jose David Sanchez Serrano sit 1st and 2nd in the Men’s Race heading into the weekend, but neither is in the draw, which means the players competing here have a real opportunity to close the gap. Every point on the table this weekend matters.
