BUILDING THE FUTURE OF PADEL IN THE U.S.: INSIDE SPORTSFIELD’S COLLABORATION WITH XCEL PADEL

As padel’s growth in the United States moves from momentum to permanence, the facilities being built today are setting the standard for what the sport looks like at scale. Few projects illustrate that shift more clearly than Sportsfield Specialties‘ work with Xcel Padel, the nation’s largest indoor padel and wellness social club.

A Facility Built for the Long Term

Xcel Padel operates two locations in South Florida: a 10-court facility in West Lake and a 12-court facility in West Palm Beach. Both are privately owned indoor clubs that combine competitive padel with wellness and social amenities, built around a vision of padel as a lifestyle destination rather than just a sport.

To bring that vision to life, Xcel Padel partnered with Sportsfield Specialties, a U.S.-based manufacturer with decades of experience in sports construction. Sportsfield supplied fully panoramic indoor padel court systems at both locations, produced domestically and installed with full-service support from site planning through final completion.

The courts feature full-glass wall construction with tempered glass, heavy-duty steel framing, premium synthetic turf, and integrated LED lighting on each court. Custom turf colors, padding, and nets carrying Xcel Padel branding were incorporated throughout, giving both facilities a consistent look that reflects the club’s identity from the first court to the last.

Coordination at Scale

A project spanning two locations and 22 courts requires more than quality materials. Sportsfield worked directly with Marcos Del Pilar, Senior Advisor and Partner at Xcel Padel, across every phase of both builds, from early planning through installation. That collaboration kept both projects aligned on quality expectations, timelines, and the level of customization Xcel Padel required.

“Completing a project of this scale demands careful coordination and attention to detail across all teams involved,” said a Sportsfield spokesperson. “Working closely with the Xcel team allowed us to deliver on their vision for a world-class indoor padel experience.”

What This Means for U.S. Padel

The Xcel Padel facilities represent the kind of investment that the sport needs to sustain its growth in the United States. Large-scale, purpose-built indoor clubs signal to players, developers, and international observers that padel in America has moved well beyond the early-adopter phase.

For the USPA, projects like this reinforce what the association has been building toward: a network of high-quality facilities where players at every level can train, compete, and grow. As the national governing body continues to expand its sanctioned tournament calendar and develop pathways for players from junior development through elite competition, the quality and availability of courts remain foundational.

Sportsfield’s ability to deliver domestically manufactured court systems at this level of customization and scale adds an important piece to that picture. Reliable, performance-grade infrastructure supports not only the clubs that invest in it but also the broader community of players and organizers who depend on it.

As padel continues to take root across the country, the standards set by facilities like Xcel Padel and the construction partners making them possible will shape what the sport’s next decade looks like in the United States.
