OVER 250 PLAYERS HEAD TO THE DESERT FOR THE PLAY BY POINT LAS VEGAS OPEN AS P1 PADEL HOSTS THE FIRST USPA 2000 OF 2026

The Nox USPA Circuit heads to the desert this weekend as P1 Padel hosts the first USPA 2000 of the 2026 season, with over 250 players registered across all divisions. It is one of the most popular stops on the circuit, and arguably its most consistent, having hosted the USPA 2000 longer than any other venue in the country.

P1 Padel is the home club of former USPA President Martin Sweeney, who built the first padel club in Dubai in the early 2010s. When Sweeney moved to the United States, he saw a gap in the market and built what has now become P1 Padel. The club has been central to growing the sport on the West Coast, and hosting a national circuit event of this size year after year is a direct reflection of that work.

Women’s D1: Cortiles and Perez Chasing a Third Straight Win

Lucy Perez and Anna Cortiles have won both USPA 1000s contested this year and are coming to Las Vegas with a chance to make it three wins in a row at the top of the circuit. The pair have been the dominant force in women’s padel on the Nox USPA Circuit for over a year now and will look to continue that form, with very few points to defend here from last year; this is a chance to extend their lead.

Whilst the second seeds, Jordana Lujan and Brittany Dubins, haven’t played as partners much of late, they have played together and won a high-level USPA circuit tournament in the past. If both teams make the final, this matchup should be one of the best battles we’ll see on the circuit this year.

A pairing to keep an eye on involves Dhany Quevedo and Clementina Riobueno, who will come to Las Vegas after representing the USA national team against Ecuador in the Padel America Cup. This extra week of training could give them an additional edge in the tournament.

The women’s draw has also attracted strong participation outside Division 1. 25 teams have entered between D2 and D3, making this one of the largest tournaments of the year.

Men’s D1: Unbeaten Leaders Look to Go Back-to-Back

The top seed, Vinny Di Francesco and Ivo Andenmatten, arrive with a perfect record on the circuit this season. They won here in Las Vegas last year and took the RGV USPA 1000 earlier this month, which means they are looking to make it back-to-back wins at this event and three wins in a row overall. Di Francesco sits at number one in the Men’s USPA rankings, and Andenmatten has not lost a circuit match yet! That combination is hard to stop.

Also worth noting is the California-based pair of Luis Estrada and Jacobo Blanco, who are making a rare appearance together. Both are well-known circuit performers, and seeing them paired up adds another layer of intrigue to a competitive field.

Aiming to challenge them will be Jose David Sanchez Serrano and Daniel Diaz. The two currently sit first and second in the 2026 race, which tracks points accumulated across the season. They have been the standout performers of the year so far, and a deep run in Las Vegas would only add to that.

The two names in the field are worth watching closely, regardless of the seeding. Ezequiel Ojeda and Matias Tenconi are FIP-ranked players who just made it into the tournament on their rankings. They are the kind of team that can beat anyone on a given day.

Beyond Division 1, the depth across the draw tells its own story. The tournament has strong support from the West Coast Padel community, which continues to grow each year. This is illustrated at the Division 3 and Division 4 levels with 46 teams across the two divisions!
