The FIP Senior World Cup is heading to Buenos Aires this September, and the United States will be there. The USPA is now taking registrations from eligible senior players who want to represent the country at the fourth edition of the tournament, running September 12–19, 2026. With both men’s and women’s squads targeting medals after strong showings in previous editions, competition for roster spots will be fierce.

About the tournament
The FIP Senior World Cup is the sport’s top international competition for age-group players. Buenos Aires marks the first time the event is held in South America. Previous editions were held in Estepona, Spain (2018), Las Vegas, USA (2022), and La Nucía, Spain (2024), where Argentina’s men claimed the world title and Spain’s women did the same. During the 2024 edition, the USA women’s team finished in a historic 7th place, and the men’s team finished 9th. Both teams will be looking to go one step further and medal in the 2026 tournament.
This edition is also the largest in the event’s history. The field has expanded to 32 national teams, up from 24 in 2024 and 16 in Las Vegas. Both the men’s and women’s competitions now run across five age categories: 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, and 60+.
Both the USA men’s and women’s teams have already been accepted into the Final Phase, meaning they enter the tournament directly rather than having to battle through qualification, which runs September 12–14 for men. Final Phase competition begins September 15 and runs through September 19.

The women’s draw features 25 pre-registered nations: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United States, and Uruguay.
The men’s draw is even deeper at 36 registered nations: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Great Britain, Hong Kong China, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherlands, Pakistan, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United States, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
How to apply
The USPA is now accepting registrations from players who want to represent the United States at the FIP Senior World Cup. Players must hold a valid US passport and have not represented another country in the past 36 months to be eligible.
